Turn On The Tap

Turn on the Tap project at MVBC.

One child dies every 20 seconds from diseases related to drinking contaminated water. Samaritan’s Purse is committed to eradicating this appalling statistic by improving access and quality of water for some of the world’s poorest nations.

Through their partners, Samaritan’s Purse is giving people healthier, safer options through wells, rainwater harvesting solutions, Bio-Sand water filters, health and hygiene programs and training. Turn on the Tap is a global campaign launched by Samaritan’s Purse to raise awareness and funds to make a major difference for children, families and communities who lack access to safe water in Africa and South-East Asia.

Since 2010, MVBC has raised $5,000 from our youth and congregation to purchase five Bio-Sand Water Filter Moulds. One mould can build thousands of Bio-Sand household water filters as needed. This means that there are two communities somewhere in South-East Asia who now have the capacity to supply each of their community households with a Bio-Sand water filter.
